The Olympic Torch Relay

Today the torch passed through Grimsby Ontario. I didn't know if I would ever have the chance to see it pass this way again so along with my family, we braved the chilled air to see it pass.

Hole In The Wall

I've got this great big hallway upstairs that leads to the back bedrooms. On the other side is the stairs and they are somewhat dark. Plus there is little to no air circulation between the up and down stairs. So what I did was cut a couple of holes in the wall. I'm making them look like a couple of windows. These are the rough openings. Thet have been framed on the insides and trimed out on the stair side but I am cutting my own design to trim the hall side.

A Couple Of Pictures

Just a few recent pictures.

Been A While

I have been neglecting this page for a while now. The weathers better. I can spend more time in the shop and out with my family. Today #2 daughter left for Quebec. She will be gone for the next four days. Last night we sat with her as she cried because she was going to miss us. Made me cry too. The bus left an hour ago and I already miss her and I hope the four days go fast.

At The Wood Show

Yesterday Kim and I went to a big woodworking show in Toronto. We had a great time and I found a few good deals. It's nice that Kim comes to these things with me and she gets to enjoy herself too. Here she is with Mag Ruffman.

Production Run

My back was feeling well rested tonight so I decided to get into the shop. I'm not supposed to sit still for too long anyway. I spent enough time putting hanging hardware on the backs of these coffee shelves before I had to pack it in. Twenty minutes in the shop is better than none.

Been Distracted

I havn't updated for a litte bit because things were a little out of hand. You see, I messed up my back at work recently. I can only sit at the computer for a short time and unfortunately this is one place that suffers. Also it really sucks that I can't get into the shop. I have a few projects on the go that I'm itching to get back to. I start physio next week so I hope that improves things. Any prayers would be welcome.

Doing My Homework

Well, kind of doing homework. I really didn't like doing speeches while I was in school and now I have a daughter doing her speech and I get to help(LOL). Daughter number two has decided to do her speech on Doctor Who. Guess she is her fathers daughter.

Tara Lyn Hart

Great news. Tara Lyn Hart, former country music star, former Crew Ministries star, will be singing in church every other sunday. Tara sang for us this past Christmas with her daughter. They both were fantastic. I think it's pretty cool getting to meet a CCMA winner.

Redneck Fun

On Sunday the family went out to Toronto to see Monster Jam. We were four rows back from the very front. The highlight of the day was watching Dennis Anderson drive Gravedigger. We knew that he was going to put on a great run as Dennis is out there for the fans. He knows the fans are the one who make it possible for him to do what he loves.

My Woodworking

Sometimes I am going to post some pictures of things that I build in my shop. Right now it's way too cold to go in there, even with the small heater that I have. My present poroject is to try and use up the excess of short boards that I've collected over the years. What I hope to do is make up a bunch of small projects and see if they will sell in a craft show. Hey, if my hobby can support itself, great. Most of what I'm making comes from reclaimed lumber. That is, lumber that would have most likely ended up in a landfill.
